Explanation

Resident-General Ito Hirobumi informs Deputy Resident-General Sone Arasuke in this memorandum that the British government has instructed the British ambassador to Tokyo to seek the release of Yang Gi-tak on bail and expeditious proceedings on him. He notes that the British government expressed concern that in the event Yang’s detention is prolonged, the British court will not be able to have the Korean stand witness in a forthcoming trial.
