Explanation
The Japanese police chief reports in this document sent to the deputy resident-general that Yun Ung-ryeol, chief of the National Debt Redemption Movement headquarters housed in the Daehan Maeil Sinbo offices, requested the British consul for the return of 30,000 won that Bethell allegedly took from the donations delivered to his newspaper. Attached is Yun’s letter of petition to the British consul.
